Case No. 20261101 · 01.11.2026
Bitcoin travelled its narrowest range in at least eight daysunder 1%; in that time the whale we've tracked since Monday closed its long itself, in profit, and three hours later came back in bigger — its line is now the only long fuel within 2% under the price.
Case No. 20261101 · 01.11.2026 06:17 UTC · BTC $77,822 / ETH $2,268 · analysis: Opus 5.5 by Anthropic
📅YESTERDAY
The daily expiry 31.10 settled at 08:00 UTC: bitcoin at $77,219, ether at $2,240. By the levels of yesterday's morning radar both coins settled inside the market-maker corridor: bitcoin $219 above the lower edge of $77,000–81,000, ether inside $2,220–2,320. Max pain missed: bitcoin settled 1.6% under $78,500, ether 0.9% under $2,260. The official verdict, with the levels fixed a day before the expiry, our expiry registry will record after the morning run. The expiry closed no whale cases.
Of the positions yesterday's radar said to watch: the whale that flipped long closed it in the evening on its own, in profit — price never reached its line — and opened a new, bigger one overnight; the new long on the decline stands unchanged; the whole-book gamma flip came down, and spot now sits above it.
⚡THE GIST
• Since yesterday's morning snapshot bitcoin is up 0.9%, ether 1.3%. Between the morning snapshots (05:46 UTC) bitcoin on the Hyperliquid perp travelled a range of just 0.9% against 3.3% yesterday — the narrowest in at least eight days.
• The whale we've tracked since Monday closed its longs in both coins in the evening, on its own and in profit, and at 01:24 UTC opened a new bitcoin long in one go — 40% bigger than yesterday's. Its line is now the only long fuel within 2% under the price.
• On the constant set of addresses the bitcoin tilt barely moved over the day (between the 05:46 UTC snapshots) — about $3.4M toward short; in ether the whales shifted toward short by about $41.0M: a big account flipped its ether long into a short, two more grew their shorts, and the biggest short house keeps cutting its short, but by about 3% now against about 19% yesterday.
• The account we gave a separate investigation is back in the sample: yesterday it held no positions, today it is short bitcoin again.
• There is no near fuel within 1% under the price; above it — one small short. Within 2% under the price the long fuel is a single position, the whale we track; yesterday there were two.
• Verdict — continuation ⟳. Bitcoin funds let out $643.3M on Friday in a single day, and the week turned into an outflow; the crowd on Bybit stands long almost as yesterday; our fear-and-greed index is 32 against 45 — the fear zone.
• 📊 Our Polygon — Pendulum: the best of four versions, +$138 on the day, +$4,768 in total since 11.05.
• 📊 Our Polygon — signals: best — Dust Strategy V2 +$74,969 at a 4% win rate · worst — Wheel Trail V8 −$10,525. Table at the bottom.

⚖️VERDICT OF THE DAY
continuation ⟳ — the whales stand short in bitcoin: the registry's short is 4.2 times the long against 4.3 yesterday, while price is up 0.9% from yesterday's snapshot in the narrowest range in at least eight days. The witnesses: the funds side with the whales in both coins; the crowd stands against; options, futures and stress are silent.
What this does NOT mean. The whales' shift toward short in ether isn't mass selling: it is first of all one big account that flipped its long, plus two that grew their shorts, while the biggest short house keeps cutting its short. The long fuel within 2% under the price is a single position: that is about how far a move down can carry for the same push, not about it being more likely.
🔒In today's full RADAR:
• where the new line of the whale that got out of its long and came back in lies, and how much it made on the exit;
• at which strike and for what premium the calls for Monday's expiry were bought overnight.

📅PUBLIC LEDGER
(computed by code at the settlement price)
The market-maker corridor. Across 474 expiries since February the market-maker break-even corridor fixed a day before expiry held the settlement price 388 times — 82%; yesterday's daily expiry the registry will record after the morning run, and by the morning levels both coins settled inside the corridor. Decision: we lean on the corridor knowing that roughly one expiry in five it doesn't hold.
Max pain. A match with the settlement in 176 of those same 474 expiries, 37%; on 31.10 the settlement landed under the morning max pain in both coins. Decision: we don't chase max pain.
The walls. The call wall held the settlement in 79 of 159 expiries where price reached it — 50%; the put wall in 49 of 118, 42%. Decision: we don't publish a wall without an expiry and a contract count, nor its percentage without a base.
Whale structures. The registry: 945 closed cases (5 of them from Bybit); across the 936 with a score, −$16.52M in total for the whales, as yesterday: the daily expiry 31.10 closed no cases. Decision: win rate isn't money, and we don't copy whale structures — we track where they stand.
Polygon. Pendulum +$4,768 since 11.05 with +$138 on the day — both numbers from one series, the live curve of the best of four versions. Decision: we publish the tally daily with the same denominator and with the version's name, on a losing day too.
📏Scale calibrator
• What protection costs. Our fear-and-greed index — 32 out of 100 against 45 yesterday. We compute it from the price of volatility and the option skew on Deribit, not from news, which is why it diverges from the well-known index.
• Cheap or expensive for this market itself. BTC two-day vol — 45th percentile of the hourly history since February, five-day — 64th, 26 days out — 49th: the nearest insurance is dearer than yesterday but stays in the middle of its usual range.
• Which way protection tilts. BTC skew +4.7: puts dearer than calls, but the tilt toward puts shrank over the day from +5.4. Terms: indiciadesk.com/en/glossary/
