Dealer gamma, week by week

Deribit shows only today's option chain, so a gamma history exists only if someone records it every day. This is ours for BTC and ETH since March 2026, one point per week: how far spot is from the zero-gamma level, and which side of it dealers are on.

Method

For every option on Deribit we take open interest and mark implied volatility and compute Black-Scholes gamma, then sum it in dollars per 1% move. Dealers are assumed long calls and short puts, the usual convention, which is a model and not an observed position. The zero-gamma level is the price at which that sum changes sign, searched within 20% of spot. The regime is the sign of the sum at the current price.

We keep one snapshot a day. 38 of the 68 weekly points come from days we rebuilt from our archived Deribit chain snapshots with the same code (column snapshot = backfill); later ones were recorded on the day. The weekly point is the last daily snapshot of the ISO week, and the current week's point moves until Sunday.

Not in the file: daily points, the dollar levels of zero-gamma and of the call and put walls, and the total GEX figure. Today's values are on /en/gex.
